How Much Is Your Degree Really Worth?

College students graduate on average with more than $20,000 in debt by the time they earn their bachelor’s degree. It costs them even more to get advanced degrees such as master’s and doctorate degrees.

It makes sense, then, that new college students would want to study a field in which they can expect to make decent money. What degrees turn into the highest-paying careers?  Try earning degrees in some form of engineering. If that isn’t your speed, you can shoot for degrees in physics, economics or computer science. They all turn into careers that, on average, pay quite well.

U2 and the environment: Practicing what they preach?

Since the global super-band first formed, they have addressed global issues ranging from poverty to social justice to climate change. However, on their current “No Line On The Horizon” tour, they have been accused of hypocrisy by environmental groups as they transport their masses of equipment around the world.

Music Retail: The Rise of Digital

As more consumers have opted to purchase their music online over the last few years, the market share of digital music retailers has increased rapidly. With iTunes leading the charge, digital retailers now account for over 35% of all music sales. The introduction of variable pricing by iTunes in April of this year brought on a dramatic increase in the number of monthly transactions per user, helping them to pass Wal-Mart as the leading music retailer. It is also important to note the other digital retailers implementing different sales models that are increasing total user spending and beginning to stake claim to a significant share of the market.
